Team Boca advances to Region semis

Kyle McEntee scored in the 115th minute to give the Team Boca U18 boys a 1-0 win over CESA 89 Premier in the quarterfinals at the U.S. Youth Soccer Region III Championships Monday.
Team Boca played the North Atlanta Elite in Tuesday’s semifinal. (Results were not available at press time).
The club won Group C with a 2-0-1 record, outscoring its opponents 4-1.
Team Boca defeated Alianza Premier 2-0, KFC Crush Aresnal 1-0 and tied Charlotte SC Blue 1-1.
The Team Boca U15 girls finished the tournament in third place in Group B with a 1-1-1 record and four points.
The South Texas Lonestars 93G Red won the group with a 2-0-1 record and seven points. The North Texas D’Feeters 93 team was second with a 1-0-2 record and five points.
Team Boca’s 1-0 loss to the LoneStars – the only match in which they gave up a goal – turned out to be the key match of the event.
Team Boca tied the D’Feeters 0-0 and crushed the ASC Phoenix 93 7-0.
Area golfers vie for national berth
Several local golfers will compete at Boca West Tuesday and Wednesday in the South Florida Junior PGA Championship. The winner goes on to the nationals in Cincinnati Aug. 13-16.
