Gingerbread Houses Auction
Lynn’s annual family holiday concert has become a tradition
with the Boca Raton community. Sponsored by the Bank of America, the
Gingerbread Concert features an exciting new program in a new location—3
p.m., Sunday, Dec. 9, at Saint Andrew’s School, 3900 Jog Road,
Boca Raton. Co-chairs of the Gingerbread Concert are Pat and Harold
Toppel and Margaret Mary and John Shuff. The concert is also underwritten
by Lydian Bank and Raymond James. Proceeds benefit scholarships for
students at the Conservatory of Music at Lynn University.
Conducted by Jon Robertson, dean of the Conservatory of Music, the
Lynn Philharmonia Orchestra will present an afternoon of beloved holiday
selections, including seasonal favorites with the Dreyfoos School
of the Arts Carolers. The Boca Ballet Theatre joins the Lynn Philharmonia
for a magical performance of Prokofiev’s Peter and the Wolf
with narration by Joe Carey, the voice of Lynn University.
After the concert and in the true tradition of a Young People’s
Concert, children can interact with student performers and have the
opportunity to see and explore the musical instruments that comprise
a symphony orchestra.
The family-friendly event also features a silent auction of gingerbread
houses donated by local restaurants, catering companies and individuals.
Silent bidding on the gingerbread houses runs from 12-2 p.m. on Saturday,
Dec. 8, and 12-3 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 9.
Santa will be available for photos from 2-3 p.m., before the concert.
The Friends of the Conservatory of Music, which raises funds for
scholarships for conservatory students, is hosting the Gingerbread
Concert. Individual seats for the concert are on sale now for $25
