Chia Exhibition Opening
The Boca Raton Museum of Art welcomed over 400 guests to the opening
of “Gods and Heroes: The Painting and Sculpture of Sandro Chia.”
Museum members and patrons got the chance to meet the artist, while
taking in his larger-than-life paintings, drawings and sculptures.
"The imaginary realm of Sandro Chia's oeuvre is one of the richest
in contemporary art," said George Bolge, Executive Director of
the Boca Raton Museum of Art and longtime friend of Chia's. “Gods
and Heroes: The Painting and Sculpture of Sandro Chia” presents
larger than life sculptures and more than 30 paintings and works on
paper. Many of the works were created specifically for the exhibition.
Additionally, four bronze Chia sculptures are installed outdoors throughout
Mizner Park. The exhibition will be on display through January 13.
It is accompanied by a fully-illustrated catalogue available in the
museum store. For more information call 561-392-2500 or visit www.bocamuseum.org.
