The Boca Raton Museum of Art has been awarded a $60,000 grant from the MetLife Foundation’s Museums and Community Connections program. The museum is one of only 13 museums nationwide to receive such a grant. The grant check was presented by Gil D. Cohen, managing director and Ghiass Ali, agency director of Met Life’s Boca Raton office. Boca Raton Museum of Art will present Visiones: 20th Century Latin Art, an expansive collection of 60 paintings, drawings, prints and sculptures by artists representing seven Latin American countries. The museum will also develop a comprehensive educational outreach program for middle and high school students in Broward and Palm Beach Counties, including hands-on demonstrations and lesson plans and workshops for teachers.
