Author, presenter and businesses consultant Stacie Nevadonski Bredan
recently revisited her alma mater, Pope John Paul II High School in
Boca Raton with a newly published book under her arm – and some
words of wisdom for a group of students majoring in journalism and
economics.
Her book, titled “Get Ahead by Going Abroad,” was published
by HarperCollins.
Stacie graduated from PJPIIHS in 1985, and then attended Florida
Atlantic University, where she studied art history and communications.
Her love of politics landed her a job in Washington D.C. doing global
public relations. From there, she traveled to Hong Kong, where she
found working in management brought more responsibility and better
compensation, in a shorter period of time.
When asked what advice she has for students who are interested in
a job in another country, she answered, “Look for colleges and
universities that offer internships or courses abroad. Also, travel
and study geography, customs and languages of other countries. Go
where the action is at this time: China, Russia and Brazil.”
Following the lecture, Sister Eileen Sullivan, principal, and Marie
Leible, director of institutional advancement, toured the campus with
the former student, and hosted a luncheon in her honor.
“We hope to have Stacie back soon,” said Leible. “The
students were profoundly inspired by her presentation
