The Camp Invention program, a summer enrichment program of the National
Inventors Hall Of Fame Inc. for children entering first through sixth
grades, has announced it will receive a $50,000 Innovation Generation
Grant from the Motorola Foundation.
The grant will fund local programs in Boca Raton, Philadelphia and
Chicago.
In addition to being used to provide scholarships for children to
attend the program, the money allows for professional development
for instructors, curricula, materials and all program site costs.
The grants fund education programs that spark a love for science,
technology, engineering and math in today’s youth. Recipients
create programs to help children discover a passion for learning as
well as fundamental skills for a bright future.
The program was created in 1990 by the National Inventors Hall of
Fame Foundation, and receives support from the United States Patent
and Trademark Office.
“With Motorola’s Innovation Generation Grant, we will
be able to offer young people in the Boca Raton community the educational
foundation to change tomorrow’s job and technology landscape,”
said Michele Setzer, national strategic marketing director of the
Camp Invention program. “We are making an investment in local
students and their communities, and we look forward to advancing our
mission with partners like Motorola.”
Children participating in the Camp Invention program take part in
all-day activities and programming that supplements their school educational
curricula.
