Hit By Train

Boca Raton police and fire-rescue say someone may have been struck and killed by a train about 9:30 p.m. Wednesday near the Clint Moore Road overpass, said Fire-Rescue spokesman Frank Correggio.

He said emergency dispatchers received a 911 call saying a Tri Rail train had struck a pedestrian. Search crews checked the area and, about 10 p.m., found the victim’s body. Tri-Rail service was suspended during the investigation, Correggio said.

The victim had not been identified at press time.
 
Credit Fraud

Boca Raton police received a call from a man in Concord, Ohio June 10, saying that someone had used his debit card and made three purchases at a gas station in Boca Raton, a police report says.  The man said he travels a lot, but has never been to Boca Raton.  The caller told police he has cancelled the account, the report says.

Kiosk Vandalized

The owner of a business located in a kiosk at the Town Center at Boca Raton mall reported an incident of vandalism to police June 10.  He reported that someone punched in an empty wooden display case door. No merchandise was removed. Video surveillance will be checked for a suspect.

Lost Phone

A Boca Raton man told police June 10 that he lost his combination Blackberry and cell phone.  He said it was last seen at a construction site on NW 13th Street.  The item has a value of $435, he told police.

Handbag Theft

A Deerfield Beach woman called Boca Raton police to report that a $300 Coach handbag was stole while she was attending a party in Boca Raton.  She said she went outside for a cigarette and theft the bag in the house. When she returned, it was gone, said the police report.
