Burglary Attempts
Boca Raton police are investigating two burglary attempts targeting ATM machines.
Officers responded about 3:15 a.m. June 24 to a silent alarm at the Washington Mutual Bank on West Yamato Road. Police found the ATM in the drive-through lane had pried open, exposing the safe.
Washington Mutual Security advised that surveillance video had captured the images of two male subjects dressed in black in a white SUV trying to gain entry to the safe. They were unable to do it.
At 9 a.m. that same day, officers were dispatched to Walgreen’s on West Yamato Road. The store manager said the front pillars of the store were damaged.
He said he reviewed surveillance footage from the night before and observed two subjects in a white SUV back into the right pillar until it fell. The subjects removed the pillar, then left the area when other vehicles passed by, police said.
Police said they believe that the suspects were attempting to gain entry to the ATM machine inside the front doors of the business.
Anyone with information is asked to contact Detective Tim Kurdys at 561-338-1377
Police said the suspects were two men, both wearing black, driving an older model white Jeep Cherokee with a small blue sticker on the bottom left corner of the windshield.
Phone Fraud
A Boca Raton couple reported to police June 9 that a suspect used their home telephone number to open two other phone lines in his name. The calls on that line are being billed to the couple’s account, they told police.
Disorderly Conduct
Boca Raton police arrested two female juveniles about 11:30 p.m. June 9 and charged them with disorderly conduct. Officers were called to break up a physical altercation at Dixie Manor, the report said. Both girls were released to guardians.
