Office Burglarized

Boca Raton police are investigating a burglary reported May 20 at 8:55 a.m. at a medical office on North Military Trail, police said.

The owner of the practice told police the phone system in the
office suddenly stopped working about 8:40 a.m. When he had the system checked it was discovered that some computer software and hardware components, valued at some $4,300, were missing.

The video surveillance for the office was checked and showed a suspect entering the office at 8:35 a.m., said Public Information Officer Sandra Booneneberg.  The suspect walked into the computer room. At 8:39, the suspect re-appeared on camera as he left the computer room, then exited the building.

Police said it appears the man was familiar with the layout of the office.  Anyone with information about the incident is asked to call Detective Mark Horowitz at (561) 338-1392.

Cocaine Possession

Boca Raton police arrested a male juvenile June 5 for possession of 3.2 grams of crack cocaine, police said.  Officers observed the teen and his friends acting suspiciously inside a car in the parking lot outside the Kmart Plaza on West Palmetto Park Road, police said.

Scooter Taken

Boca Raton police are investigating the theft of an electric scooter reported June 5.  A woman said the scooter belonged to her son and was valued at $250.  It was parked on the side of the house.

Backpack Stolen

Boca Raton police said someone entered a car parked on St. Albans Drive June 5 and stole a backpack containing a number of books. The backpack was located in the bushes near the victim’s house, wet from heavy rain. Police said the contents were untouched.

Theft Report

A woman was arrested about 5:45 p.m. June 5 at Nordstrom in the Town Center at Boca Raton mall and charged with shoplifting $298 worth of clothing.  She was released with a notice to appear in court, police said.
