Shoplift Reported
Boca Raton police arrested a suspect about 12:30 p.m. June 5 on a charge of shoplifting from the Publix on South Federal Highway. The suspect reportedly stole about $107 worth of merchandise. Police said he was taken to the police station, processed and later released with a notice to appear in court.
House Break
A Boca Raton woman told police June 5 that someone pried open the door to the den room of her home and got inside the house. She told police the intruder stole a diamond ring from the master bedroom, an X-box and laptop computer from the living room. Police said it appeared the intruder left by way of the front door.
Window Smashed
A Boca Raton resident told police June 5 that someone smashed out the rear window of his van to gain entry. The suspect took a wallet containing credit cards and $150 in cash, according to a police report.
Attempted Break
A woman from Boca Raton told police June 5 that someone tried to burglarize her car while it was parked in front of her home. The left passenger window was smashed out, police said. The woman said a briefcase was in the car, but it did not appear to have been disturbed, police said.
Car Vandalism
A resident of Miami told Boca Raton police June 5 that his car was vandalized while it was parked in Boca Raton three days earlier. The man said the car was in front of his business. While it was there, someone slashed the right front tire, police said. The man told police his car has been vandalized before.
Auto Entered
A Lake Worth woman told Boca Raton police June 5 that her car was damaged while it was parked at the Town Center at Boca Raton mall. She said an intruder stole a Blackberry and two pairs of sunglasses valued at $150 and $300, the police report said.
