Purse Snatch
Boca Raton police are investigating a report of a purse snatching about 7:20 p.m. June 13 outside a restaurant on West Yamato Road, police said.
The victim told police she was eating dinner when a man approached, spoke to her, then grabbed her purse from her lap, said Public Information Officer Sandra Boonenberg. After a brief struggle, the suspect was able to pull the purse away from her, said the report.
The woman was not injured during the encounter, Boonenberg said. The woman described the thief as being 5’8” tall, thin, with short hair and wearing a black shirt and black denim shorts. He ran to a waiting black four-door sedan with rear end damage, which was occupied by a second male.

Truck Fire
Workers trimming trees at the Boca Raton Hotel & Club at 7 p.m. June 13 noticed smoke and flames coming from the engine compartment and cab of the truck, fire officials said. They quickly brought down a worker who was in the bucket when the fire started. Fire crews arrived and extinguished the blaze. Officials said there were no injuries reported. Fire officials estimate the damage at $25,000. The cause of the fire is unknown at this time.
DUI Report
Boca Raton police reported that a 26-year-old woman was arrested for driving while under the influence of alcohol after her car was stopped on NE Mizner Boulevard just before 1 a.m. May 29, police said.
Apartment Entered
A Boca Raton resident told police June 5 that someone entered his apartment while he was at work. The intruder stole a television, DVDs, a Play Station and a $100 gift card, said police.
Vehicle Damaged
A Boca Raton resident told police June 5 that someone vandalized his son-in-law’s vehicle, police said. The suspect smashed the rear window, police said, but took nothing.
