Burglary Suspect
Boca Raton police continue to search for a suspect who burglarized a construction site on East Palmetto Park Road late last month.
Public Information Officer Sandra Boonenberg said the victims,
Fisk Electric and Thyssen Krupp Elevator, reported that numerous storage boxes were broken into and many power tools were taken.
Boonenberg said the suspect may be a former employee since he by-passed several storage containers to get to the ones he broke into.
A surveillance tape, she said, showed the suspect is a male, about 5’10,” with a stocky build, short dark hair, mustache and wearing jeans, a long sleeve shirt over a t-shirt, a hard hat and work boots. He is seen on the tape loading the tools onto a cart.
Anyone with information is asked to call Detective Sean Flynn at (561) 620-6042.
Guns Stolen
Boca Raton police are investigating two vehicle burglaries that resulted in the theft of guns, police said.
According to one report, a handgun, ammunition clips, two pairs of handcuffs and other items were taken from a car sometime between April 30 and May 5, police said.
In the other incident, police said, a man called to report someone pried the passenger door lock of his pickup truck and stole a black satchel containing two guns and two checkbooks.
SUV Vandalized
A Boca Raton resident told police May 5 that someone vandalized his SUV. The right rear tire was slashed, he told police. It cost $250 to replace it, said police.
Shoplifters Caught
Boca Raton police said two people were caught shoplifting at the Kmart Store on West Palmetto Park Road, police said. A loss prevention officer said he caught the men trying to steal more than $1,200 worth of medications and razors. Both men were taken to the county jail, police said.
