Shoplifters nabbed
Boca Raton police arrested two men just before 3:30 p.m. May 1 and charged them with shoplifting aboiut $238 worth of merchandise from the Nordstrom store at the Town Center at Boca Raton mall, police said. One of the men was also charged with resisting a merchant and with fraudulently obtaining and possessing a Florida driver’s license, police said. The man facing only the shoplifting charge was released on personal recognizance while the other man went to the county jail, police said.
Bad Check
Boca Raton police said a woman tried to cash a fraudulent check at a local bank abouit 3:40 p.m. on May 1. She left the bank without taking the check. It was placed in an evidence file, said police.
Car Entered
The mechanic at a local service station told Boca Raton police May 1 that someone broke into a customer’s car, polices said. The rear window was smashed out and a $200 stereo system was taken, according to the report.
Break Try
Boca Raton police said someone tried to break into a local resident’s SUV by smashing the driver’s side front window with an unknown object. The person was unable to get in, said police.
Plate Taken
Boca Raton police received a call from a local business that a license plate was taken from a 50-foot trailer sometime during April. The theft was reported May 1, said police.
Bike Stolen
Boca Raton police received a call May 1 from a person who reported her $175 bicycle taken from the front porch. She discovered the theft about noon, she told police.
Drug Charges
Boca Raton police arrested a suspect just before 6 p.m. March 1 and charged him with possessions of marijuana with intent to sell, possession of ecstasy with intent to sell, possession of cocaine and possession of xanax. He was also charged with possession of drug paraphernalia. The suspect was arrested following a traffic stop on Interstate 95, said police.
