Attempted Robbery

Boca Raton police are investigating a report of an attempted robbery about 8:20 a.m. May 9, police said.

Officers responded to the 1000 block of NW 13th Street to interview the victim, said the report.

The man told officers he was riding his bicycle on the
sidewalk on the north side of NW 13th Street, traveling west toward NW 9th Court when he saw another man riding a bike eastbound.  The victim told police the other cyclist crossed the street and began to follow him.

Police said the suspect caught up with him, pulled out a knife and demanded money.  The victim ran away to a friend’s apartment and called police.  He was not injured, and nothing was taken.

Gun Possession

During an investigation of a disturbance on SE 3rd Street in Boca Raton about 12:35 a.m. May 1, police arrested a man on a charge of being in possession of a firearm while intoxicated.  He was also charged with improper display of a firearm.  Police said the charges have been filed with the State Attorney’s Office.

Stiffed Cabbie

Boca Raton police said a man refused to pay a $40 cab fare on South Dixie Highway about 2 a.m. on May 1.  The driver refused to prosecute, police said.

Drug Possession

Boca Raton police arrested two men and a woman about 2:50 a.m. May 1 and charged them with possession of a schedule II narcotic after they were found in possession of oxycodone.  The woman was also charged with possession of drug paraphernalia, police said.

Computers Stolen

A Boca Raton resident contacted police May 1 to report that his home was broken into, police said. The intruder got in by prying a deadbolt lock, said police.  The intruder stole two computers, the report said.
