Assaulted Cop
A male juvenile was arrested about 1:20 a.m. April 26 on a charge of assaulting a law enforcement officer and resisting arrest, according to Boca Raton police. The incident occurred on Sweet Maple Lane, police said, when a youth clenched his fist and took a fighting stance, said police. He was taken to the police station where he was processed, then released to his father, police said.
Shoplifter Nabbed
Boca Raton police arrested a suspect just before 7 p.m. April 25 at the Macy’s in Town Center at Boca Raton mall and charged him with shoplifting. He reportedly stole a wallet worth $45, police said. He was processed and released with a notice to appear in court, police said.
Building Vandalized
Boca Raton police said vandals spray-painted a business building on North Dixie Highway. The reporting party said the rear of the structure was sprayed with paint, a police report said.
Bikes Stolen
Boca Raton police said a resident of Elm Tree Lane reported April 26 that someone stole two bicycles from the garage and driveway of his home, according to police.
Burglary Reported
Boca Raton police received a report April 26 that someone had burglarized a construction site on NW Seventh Avenue, police said. A suspect or suspects gained entry into a storage container by ramming a forklift into the doors. Taken, police said, were 1,300 feet of copper wiring and copper scraps. Suspects also broke into the building and entered all three electrical rooms, but took nothing, police said.
Potty Gone
Boca Raton police received a report April 26 that a portable toilet – known as a Porta Potty – was stolen from NW Second Avenue, a police report said.
Guest Robbed
A guest at a hotel in Boca Raton told police April 26 that someone stole her laptop computer and an Ipod, according to a police report.
