Fatality On I-95
Florida Highway Patrol is investigating a single-car accident in I-95 early Sunday that injured the driver and killed his passenger.
FHP said Caitlyn E. Lockard, 18, of Fort Lauderdale, was thrown from the vehicle and pronounced dead at the scene. She was in a car operated by Michael C. Wilkerson, 21, of Deerfield Beach.
The report said Wilkerson was going south just after midnight Sunday when the car left the road, traveled onto the shoulder of the road and overturn, throwing Lockard from the car.
Wilkerson was taken to Boca Raton Community Hospital with serious injuries, said FHP.
Motorcyclist Killed
The Florida Highway Patrol reports that a Boca Raton motorcyclist was killed Thursday morning after colliding with a truck on I-95 just south of Oakland Park Boulevard in Fort Lauderdale, FHP said.
The man was identified as Jerome R. Campbell, 28. FHP said he was heading north on the highway about 2:30 a.m. when the cycle and the truck collided.
Patrol officers said he was ejected from the vehicle and thrown into the center lane of the highway where he was hit by a car as he was lying in the road. That car lost control and struck the concrete wall on the right side of the road, said FHP.
Campbell was pronounced dead at the scene, said Florida Highway Patrol.
Weapon Discharge
Boca Raton police received a 911 call from a local man about 6:35 a.m. March 9 who said he heard about nine shots fired from a gun in front of his home. He said looked out and saw a black sedan speeding out of the area. Police found three 9mm shell casings in the area, said a police report.
Lost Wallet
Boca Raton police received a report March 8 that a man lost his wallet while he was at Mizner Park that day. He said the wallet contained his driver’s license, $5 in cash, three credit cards and two health insurance cards.
