DUI Arrest

Boca Raton police arrested a motorist about 10:55 p.m. Feb. 13 and charged her with driving while under the influence of alcohol. Police said the woman’s car was stopped on SW 18th Street in Boca Raton.  She provided two breath samples, police said.

Theft Reported

Boca Raton police were called to the Town Center mall just after 4 p.m. Feb. 13 to investigate the theft of a store employee’s wallet.  The woman said it was taken out of her purse behind the register.  Other employees said they saw a woman going through the wallet and tried to apprehend her, but she ran from the store, police said.  Officers recovered the wallet on the floor inside the store, but the thief got away with $100, said police.

Shoplifts Probed

The clerk at a 7-Eleven Store on West Palmetto Park Road in Boca Raton told police that an unknown man shoplifted nearly $20 worth of merchandise from the store about 7:40 p.m. Feb. 13, said police.

In another incident, police said a woman was arrested at the Town Center mall after she allegedly stole a pair of running shorts and two shirts worth $59 from Macy’s.  The theft attempt occurred about 8:50 p.m. Feb. 13.  The woman was released on her own recognizance, police said.

Habitual Offender

Boca Raton police arrested a man about 12:20 a.m. Feb. 14 on a charge of being a habitual traffic offender, a felony.    He was taken into custody after a traffic stop on West Palmetto Park Road, police said.

Tried To Flee

Boca Raton police arrested a motorist just after 2 a.m. Feb. 14 for allegedly trying to flee while officers in a marked police cruiser were trying to make a traffic stop. The motorist crashed the car, but was not hurt, police said.  He was arrested on charges of resisting and obstruction and taken to the county jail, said police.
