Special girl Corrina needs you

Published May 12th, 2008

SPECIAL TO THE NEWS

My name is Corinna and I'm a wonderful little dog with a heart full of love to share.

We think I'm a terrier/whippet mix, just 5 months old, spayed, housebroken and 15 pounds.  They call me a “special needs” dog here, but all I really need are the same things any dog longs for.

I just want love and kindness and a happy home to live and play in.  I've had a rough start to my young life as I contracted distemper along with all my siblings.  I was the only survivor of the litter.
I'm recovered now and not contagious at all.

I play happily here with other dogs and I can live with cats and kids, too.  I'm really cute and trying to grow into these giant ears, but that's not happening!

I do have a slight muscle twitch, like a spasm, every few seconds as a result of my illness.  It is very slight and doesn't require any medical care or treatment and it never stops me from being happy, active, sweet, and very affectionate.

I've come so far and now I'm just waiting patiently for that special someone who will love me and take me home. My slight disability does not bother me, so don't let it bother you.

I'm available for adoption at Tri-County Humane Society, a no-kill animal shelter located at 21287 Boca Rio Road in Boca Raton.  The shelter is open for adoptions Tuesday through Sunday, 11 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Adoption fees for companion animals are $110 and up. Animals are heartworm tested and up-to-date on vaccinations.

Included in the adoption fee is one year of free office visits to
Boca Midtowne Animal Hospital. Call (561) 482-8110 or visit www.tricountyhumane.org.
