The fourth annual Splash of Gold Fashion show at the Boca Marriott, Friday, raised over $16,000 for the Greater Boca Raton Chamber of Commerce’s Golden Bell Education Foundation.
More than 200 guests enjoyed a fashion show featuring local celebrity auction lunches donated by the Opus 5 restaurant. Emcee for the evening was Virginia Lang of 95.5 FM’s Wild Morning Show.
“We had a great time all while supporting public education,” said Lang “I would love to do it again next year!”
Celebrity models included, Sam Hosn, chamber chairman; Troy McLellan, chamber president and CEO: JC and Pam Perrin; Burt Rapoport of the Rapoport Restaurant Group; Rebecca Coleman, Society Editor of the Boca Raton News and Michael Papamichael, Chamber Small Business of the Year winner.
Professional models from Boca Models and Gabriela Wagner, Miss Palm Beach County joined the celebrity models. Local fashion retailers donated clothes. Salon Cielo and Ann from South City Salon provided hair and make up services.
“Besides the fashion show with professional models and local celebrity models, we had tons of excitement– local celebrity auctions, and lavish hors d'oeuvres provided by local restaurants and a spectacular finale of sword-waving belly dancers,” said Heather Howell, GBRCC Special Events Coordinator.
The monies raised at the fashion show event will be granted to local public schools and scholarships at the September membership breakfast. In 2007 the Golden Bell Education Foundation granted $48,000 to 12 local public schools and one scholarship fund.
