Supervisor of Elections sets voting equipment demonstrations

The Supervisor of Elections Office has announced two opportunities for Palm Beach County voters to learn about the new voting equipment slated to be used in the upcoming elections. Voters will be able to test out the new optical scan voting equipment and have questions answered July 9 and 10.
Dr. Arthur Anderson, Palm Beach County’s Supervisor of Elections, said this is part of his educational program before voters actually have to use the equipment votes on Election Day.
Voters will learn how these machines work, the correct way to fill out a ballot and where ballots are stored. In addition, security and accuracy issues will be addressed.
Open houses are scheduled at the new SOE Tabulation Center located off of Belvedere Rd in West Palm Beach) Belvedere Road in West Palm Beach. The times are as follows:
July 8, 2008 (New SOE Tabulation Center) 10 am to 2 pm and 6 pm to 8 pm.
July 9, 2008 (New SOE Tabulation Center),10 am to 12 pm and 2 to 4:30 pm.
