South County court to close for more to new facility

The new South County branch of the Palm Beach County Courthouse, located at 200 West Atlantic Avenue, Delray Beach, will be closed Thursday, July 3, and Friday, July 4.
This closure is needed to prepare for the relocation to the new court facility located adjacent to the existing courthouse. This new building will open Monday, July 7 at 8 a.m.
Construction on this new building began in mid-2006. The new facility will house six courtrooms and two hearing rooms for civil, criminal and probate matters.
In addition, there will be judicial and magistrate offices, the Law Library, Court Volunteer Visitor’s Program, and offices of the Clerk of Courts, State Attorney and Public Defender. Expanded work areas will be included for Mediation, Court Interpreters and Case Managers. Traffic Court will continue at its existing location.
