Published June 29th, 2008

FROM STAFF REPORTS

Some 400 people attended Café Europa, a gathering for Holocaust survivors, held Wednesday and sponsored by Ruth Rales Jewish Family Service of South Palm Beach County.  It was held at B’nai Torah Congregation on SW 18th Street in Boca Raton.

The event brings together Holocaust survivors, their children, grandchildren and friends, for a lunch and social event.  Survivors frequently meet others who may have been in the same camp or gone through the same circumstances.

Speakers Wednesday included District 5 County Commissioner Burt Aaronson and state Sen. Ted Deutch.

The event, held periodically through the year is open to Boca Raton, Delray Beach and Highland Beach Holocaust survivors only.
