Shore Restaurant in Delray offers contemporary seafood cuisine

Scott Martin has a vision – “to give the area one of the best contemporary seafood restaurants.”

He began that process nearly a year ago when he became owner of the Shore Restaurant and Beach Bar at State Road A1A and East Atlantic Avenue in Delray Beach.

“As we approach our one-year anniversary at Shore,” he said, “we have delivered, and serve, some of the finest seafood in town – implemented with first-class service and entertainment, all at the best location in Delray Beach.”

Martin, who heads Fusion Foods, LLC, knows the restaurant business from end to end. He began by waiting on customers and busing tables. He moved to the kitchen – where he still plies his trade – and then to the executive office.

The owner of Shore has more than 14 years in the food and beverage industry, in both corporate and private operations. “I am committed to our guests through a perpetual enthusiasm for food and service.”

He is owner-operator of Shore, and said he believes in working side-by-side with his employees.

Martin honed his abilities at the Brick Hotel & Restaurant in Newtown, Pa., where he helped grow the catering department and added a gourmet deli.

He was a consultant and executive chef for Penndel’s Restaurant in Langhorne, Pa., before taking over Shore.

Patrick Lenhardt is executive chef at Shore. He came from the Old Original Bookbinder’s in Philadelphia. A native of Gloucester, Va., he was inspired by his mother who loved to cook. “She fixed great meals,” he said, “and made everything from scratch.”

He is also a graduate of the Johnson & Wales Culinary Institute.

Working together, Lenhardt and Martin have introduced new lunch and dinner menus.
